H
Director of Geological Survey (Teale): -
proved himself to be a keen, capable and "efficient officer, well adapted to the special
conditions of work in this country .... His general
"conduct throughout was very good, he is of a cheerful
"disposition, possessing grit, adaptability, and energy "which are favourable requirements for the type of work
"he was engaged on. As a junior officer, his work did
"not provide much scope for judging his administrative
"ability, but he managed his safari conditions most
"satisfactorily and I would say that his capabilities in "this direction were promi sing. His professional ability "in practice fully upheld his good academic qualifications "which rendered him a most useful and reliable officer."
